Most organizations offer wellness programs simply because they think the benefit is worth the cost. Yet business leaders continue to ask themselves how to control huge annual increases in health insurance premiums and healthcare costs.The Fremont Well City Initiative is a goal to make Fremont, Nebraska, a Well City by 2013. The primary requirement for achieving this designation is that 20% of the community's working population (with a minimum of 20 companies) must be employed by a designated Well Workplace Award winning company.
Four levels of the Well Workplace Award are possible to achieve: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. Application criteria for each of these designations are based upon progressive development and implementation of an organization's wellness initiative within the context of the seven critical benchmarks, shown to produce results in organizations of all sizes and industry types.
