Healthy Homes Eligibility Requirements

Eligibility for program services is determined based on the following factors:

  • Geographic location: The housing unit must be located in Dodge, Washington, or Saunders County.
  • Target populations: Priority may be given to households with children with asthma, older adults, or families living in substandard housing conditions.
  • Program criteria: Additional requirements may include household income limits, property status (owner-occupied or rental), type of housing (private or public), and the level of housing deterioration.
  • Documentation: Applicants must be able to provide the required documentation to verify eligibility.

Application Process

A completed application must be submitted along with all required documentation, such as bank statements, tax returns, and other requested financial records. Applications that are missing required documents will not be considered, and the project will not move forward until all materials are received. Once a complete application has been submitted, a member of our staff will contact you if additional information is needed.

Rental Property Requirements

For rental units, property owners must complete the owner section of the application and sign the required mortgage and promissory note documents.

Lead Hazard Control Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the program, the housing unit (house, apartment, etc.) must have been built before 1978. The household must also meet income eligibility guidelines (income limits are subject to change). In addition, at least one child age five or younger must live in or frequently visit the home (10 or more hours per week).
